Description

Shusaku Arakawa’s paintings and drawings were exhibited at Ronald Feldman Fine Arts, a New York gallery, in 1983. The exhibition subsequently traveled to Padiglione d'Arte Contemporanea (PAC) in Milan in September of the same year. Power within power forms what Arakawa calls “blank.” Through this blank an individual or a group perceives itself as an unstable entity open to transformation. Arakawa’s conceptual paintings combine text, geometric shapes, and abstract forms.

1983年にニューヨークのロナルド・フェルドマンギャラリーで荒川修作の絵画やデッサンが展示された。同年9月にミラノのパディグリオーネ・ダルテ現代美術館（PAC）に出展した。力の中の力は荒川が空白と呼ぶものを形成する。この空白を通して、個人あるいはグループは変容しやすく、不安定な存在として自分自身を認識する。荒川のコンセプト絵画は、テキスト、幾何学的、抽象的な形を組み合わせたものである。
