Buddha, Again (a.k.a. Cosmic Buddha) / コスミック・ブッダ

Description

For this film, Iimura photographed a relief of Buddha in Kathmandu. A blurred image of Buddha reflects the state of abstraction confined within the temporal and spatial Buddhist cosmology. Iimura manipulated the footage as well by expanding the original 8mm version and re-filming it in 16mm.
飯村はカトマンズで仏様のレリーフを撮影した。 ぼやけた仏像は、時空間の仏教宇宙という抽象化の状態を反映している。飯村は、オリジナルの8 ミリバージョンを拡大し、16ミリに再撮影した。
