White Calligraphy / ホワイト・カリグラフィー
Description
Instead of using black ink on white paper as in traditional calligraphy, Iimura drew white calligraphy on black film. He wrote Japanese characters such as “god,” “heaven,” and “life,” among others from the Kojiki, an ancient chronicle of Japan.書道のように白い紙の上に墨を使う代わりに、飯村は黒いフィルムの上に白いカリグラフィを描いた。『古事記』からとった「神」、「天国」、「人生」などの文字を書き込んだ。
